A WOMAN has hit out at Superdrug, calling their bargain prices an “optical illusion” and insisting the store should be renamed “Money Drug”.
Melina blasted the toiletries store after going in for an eyebrow pencil and spending almost £40.

In a video on her TikTok page, she said: “So I’ve come to the conclusion that Superdrug has an optical illusion on their prices.
“As in when you look at it on the wall or whatever, you’re looking at the prices, that’s not really the price.
“Because when you get to the till, why is the price of things different?
“How have you spent more than you intended to spend?
“That place should be called Money Drug.
“I can’t be the only person who walks from Superdrug, going to buy a £3 eyebrow pencil, and spends £50. What the f**k?”
She explained that she’d initially gone in for the pencil but ended up buying a primer instead – and the total of the shop was £36.47.
“What’s the actual gag?” Melina asked.
“The fact that I went in for one item and got two or the fact that I ended up with more items and got charged nearly £40?
“I don’t know.
“Money drug, optical illusions, scammers – they’re big scammers, I’m telling you.”
She captioned the video “#Ridiculous”.
And lots of people in the comments section were quick to agree with her, with one writing: “I’ve been saying thisss Superdrug is pretend cheap!!
“Boots is where it’s at and they’re loyalty scheme is 10/10 at boots!”
“Nah fr Boots really is it man,” Melina replied.
“I can’t believe I spent so much on so little LOOL and still have the card?!
“Hate that place”.
“I’m always getting a jump scare at the tills,” another agreed.
“Listen that place is something else,” a third raged.
“On top of that they will encourage u to buy more when you get to the till.”
While someone else added: “As an employee sometimes I look at the tills confused too ??
“Because how did it add up like that?”
“I avoid Superdrug like crazyy, we’re in a cost of living crisis,” another insisted.
“No I swear every single time I always think imma spend about £10 and it’s more like £60,” someone else wrote.
Others defended the store, with one writing: ” Sometimes they don’t update the discounts on the till like on the tags.
“Happened to me multiple times where I had to say it said a different price on the tag where the products are and they have to go double check and correct it on the till.”
“But you picked up the additional things loool,” another said.
“It’s ok, I do the same, but have concluded I will pick up a basket in case there is a deal on.”
As a third commented: “You need to get the loyalty card, saves me loadssss!”
